Roasted garlic broccoli rabe pairs well with grilled proteins such as flank steak and lamb chops. The vegetable's bitterness cuts, and compliments, any gamey or richness provided by the grilled meat.
Our take uses a Gozney Roccbox Pizza Oven but you can also utilize your oven in the kitchen!
INGREDIENTS
Yield: 3 to 4 servings
1 pound broccoli rabe, trimmed of any tough, fibrous stems
2 tablespoons avocado oil
¼ teaspoon Jacobsen Sea salt
1-2 tablespoons GARLKI ORIGINAL fermented garlic paste
Pinch red pepper flakes (Optional)
Step 1
Heat oven to 425 degrees (low heat for the Roccbox). Toss broccoli rabe with olive oil, salt and red pepper flakes (optional). Toss Garliki into rabe and spread on a lightly oiled cast iron pan.
**For a softer, less bitter flavor, blanch the rabe in boiling salt water for 2-3 minutes
Step 2
Roast rabe for about 5-10 minutes. It’s done when the stems are tender and the leaves are crisp at the edges.
